Tasting Notes

Rich, rustic, Bordeaux-style blend, with loads of blackberry, raspberry, plum, black licorice, tobacco, vanilla, and baking spices on the nose. Smooth and full-bodied with moderate slightly rustic tannins, and a long, luxurious, velvety finish. Enjoy with Cooper’s Hawk Trio of Medallions, the Leonard Burger, or almost any other beef dish.


As Rob Warren and his team work with some of the best grape growers in California, they occasionally come across stand-out vineyards of exceeding quality. These grapes are marked as potential candidates for our Barrel Reserve program. There's no formula for this blend each year—the final wine is crafted for flavor and texture alone. Warren seeks out big, rich Bordeaux-inspired reds with loads of generous fruit and firm tannins, which benefit from aging in the finest oak barrels. While this small batch exclusive is bottled only once per year, we send one special barrel to each restaurant for guests to experience this wine in its delicious aging journey.
