Our 2023 Barrel Reserve is the most complex blend yet! Our winemakers set aside lots of wine that they feel have the qualities needed to be enhanced with barrel aging. These wines are firm, dark, and rich with bold tannins. Barrel aging softens those tannins and rounds out the texture, making it velvety and smooth. The oak also adds spicy notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove along with sweeter notes of vanilla and caramel.

The varietals used are all known for their power and intensity. Cabernet Sauvignon is the ideal frame for a blend as it adds structure and depth. Juicy grapes like Merlot, Zinfandel, and Grenache bring in lusciousness while grapes like Malbec, Petite Sirah, and Alicante add dark color and violet flavors. Petite Sirah, Tannat, and Syrah all add the darkest spice notes to the blend.
The combined symphony of these has a palate loaded with blackberry, black currant, clove, dark chocolate, and coffee flavors. This is a dark and spicy wine worthy of enjoying with a great meal today or cellaring for years to come.
