The Service Assistant contributes to the set up and break down of our dining area and is involved in food expo, including carry out. Responsibilities include fulfilling Guests’ requests, opening and closing support, basic tables side duties, and supporting overall lunch and/or dinner service. The Service Assistant is responsible for sanitation, organization, and proper food handling. As a member of the Piccolo Buco team, the Service Assistant is critical to the success of the company and plays an integral role in executing a positive experience for each restaurant Guest. • Greet all guests with hospitality and friendliness • Actively communicate with Hosts, Servers, Bartenders, Food Runners, Kitchen Staff and Retail Tasting Room Attendants to ensure a memorable guest experience • Adhere to all Piccolo Buco service standards • Manicure tables, keeping them free of debris and un-wanted items during service • Re-set tables and bring items to dishroom • Attend to Guest needs, including delivering and re-filling beverages, and packing leftovers • Support delivering food orders to the table as assigned • Engage with guests and answer questions about food, wine, and facilities in a friendly, helpful manner • Maintain knowledge of Piccolo Buco menu • Ensure tables in dining room are ready for service, including set-up, bussing, and maintenance during the guest experience, such as water, coffee and tea refills • Ensure dishes are stocked and available for table service and table silverware is ready for service • Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and stocked work area • Complete necessary side work during non-busy hours • Maintain professional relationships with all Managers and Team Members • Follow departmental checklists and standard operating procedures to ensure work areas are prepared for opening, mid-shift or closing in accordance with company guidelines • Perform other duties as assigned, including working special events
